It’s a legal requirement for landlords and letting agents to protect their tenants’ deposits with a government scheme such as mydeposits. We've been protecting deposits for over 12 years.

In these unprecedented times, we are experiencing extensive delays in us answering your phone calls. We are doing our bit to ensure the safety and well-being of our people so all our customer service advisors are now working from home. As we routinely deal with more than 1,000 calls a day (in normal times) the current government advice is unfortunately placing huge pressure on our remote access capabilities, however we support the advice to help minimise the disruption the country is experiencing.

Fortunately, you can deal with most of your day to day deposit protection requirements via your online accounts such as protecting or unprotecting a deposit, paying for your deposit protection or lodging and releasing deposits in our custodial scheme. Disputes can be managed through our online dispute portal. We also offer our Live Chat facility if you need specific help on any issue relating to tenancy deposit protection.  How much deposit can I take?

 

From the 1st June 2019, the deposit amount which can be taken at the start of each new Assured Shorthold Tenancy
and at the renewal of all existing tenancies has been capped in England as part of the Tenant Fees Act 2019.
