mydeposits began in April 2007 when the tenancy deposit protection legislation first came into force, and we’ve been protecting tenant’s deposits on behalf of our landlord and agent members ever since.

I’ve seen first-hand how deposit protection has helped raise renting standards, reduce unfairly withheld deposits and improved landlord – tenant relationships.

It is important to understand that the government’s overriding aim for tenancy deposit protection is to safeguard the tenant, to positively influence landlord-tenant behaviour and in turn raising standards in the private-rented sector.
