mydeposits is a government-authorised tenancy deposit protection scheme. It is designed to enable landlords and letting agents to take and hold a deposit for the duration of the tenancy.

Since April 2007 all landlords and agents taking a deposit on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST) in England and Wales must, by law, protect it within 14 days in a government-authorised scheme.

There are severe penalties for landlords who do not comply with the law.

We offer a simple, transparent alternative dispute resolution (ADR) service. This gives our landlord and letting agent members, as well as tenants, the peace of mind in knowing that our free, award nominated ADR service is available if they cannot agree over the amount of the deposit to be returned to the tenant at the end of the tenancy.
