Eddie Hooker formed HFIS plc in 1996 having previously gained experience since 1985 at Legal & General Insurance, Guardian Insurance and AXA Insurance.
In 2007 Eddie became CEO of Tenancy Deposit Solutions Limited t/a mydeposits. This joint venture between HFIS plc and the National Landlords Association has successfully procured government approval to operate in England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and Jersey.
Suzy’s background is legal with over seven years’ experience as an adjudicator having qualified with the Chartered Institute of Arbitration.
Her primary tasks now involve identifying adjudication best practice, overseeing the Complaints Department and providing educational materials to the industry as well as presenting at mydeposits workshops on all things deposit related.
Kate has been with mydeposits since its inception in April 2007. Kate has worked with customer service, disputes and adjudication and also as Business Performance Manager, she ensured the Scheme met it’s KPI’s and provided management information and data analysis.
Kate’s role is now Head of National Accounts, where she acts as primary point of contact for some of the largest letting agents in the UK. Kate is also responsible for managing existing and developing our online and digital services.
Nick joined mydeposits in 2008 where he took up the position of Financial Controller. He was, and to this day still is, responsible for the effective implementation of the company’s financial framework.
James joined mydeposits as an Adjudicator in 2010, moving into the role of Senior Adjudicator before taking on responsibility for both the Case Handling and Adjudication teams . His previous career steps had included a law degree from King’s College London, working as a paralegal in housing law and experience as a residential property manager.
In his current role of Legal Operations Manager he is tasked with effectively delivering the mydeposits ADR service through managing both the Adjudication and Complaints teams, with a strong focus on quality and consistency.
James has been with mydeposits since 2010 and was previously part of the marketing team at the National Landlords Association.
James is responsible for all the mydeposits marketing and communications strategy, including all advertising and promotional campaigns, along with media and social media activities, website development, event management and literature.
Greg has been with mydeposits since its inception in April 2007 and has successfully delivered IT solutions across network infrastructure, communications and software development domains. Greg is responsible for the IT team that develops and maintains software solutions for mydeposits.
Stuart took up the position of the Operations Manager for the Customer Services team in December 2015.
His responsibilities include overseeing the Customer Services team and ensuring that we meet our key performance indicators (KPIs) set by the Government.
John Bowman has been with the company since 2008 dealing primarily with Letting Agents in the Insurance backed mydeposits scheme.
Paul Shamplina has spent over 25 years in the legal field helping landlords with problem tenants, with previous experience working as a clerk, private investigator, debt collector and certified bailiff.
He has acquired a reputation as “The Landlord’s Friend” and in 2015 co-wrote a book with fellow property expert, Kate Faulkner, to help landlords manage their properties.
Paul believes passionately in the rights of landlords and tenants where necessary, and campaigns tirelessly to improve standards throughout the private rented sector. He was particularly instrumental in the law which made squatting a criminal offence from September 2012.
Paul also sits on the Property Redress Scheme’s advisory council.
A Manager with an extensive background in IT coupled with exceptional leadership skills, a track record of achievement and service delivery with both third party vendors and internal company departments.
As a certified PRINCE 2 practitioner, he has specialised in delivery of infrastructure and Network projects and has considerable experience of managing application roll out and development projects with much of this gained within the banking and finance industry.
Peter Joined HFIS in February 2010 and is currently Head of Group Risk and Information Security. He is a member of ISACA London Chapter and has spoken at IT Security events.
