2. End of tenancy

 

Step 1 Deposit returned by Landlord/Agent

Step 2 Landlord unprotects deposit

Step 3 Tenant advised

  • mydeposits advises Tenant that their deposit has been unprotected.

 

Summary

  • At the end of the tenancy, you agree with your Landlord (or Agent) how much of the deposit should be returned to the Tenant
  • Within 10 days of reaching agreement or the Tenant requesting it, the Tenant should receive the agreed amount from your Landlord/Agent.
  • Your deposit can then be unprotected by your Landlord/Agent. mydeposits will also contact you at your alternative correspondence addresswhat's this? to confirm this.
  • Alternatively, both you and your Landlord (or Agent) can unprotect a deposit by signing the reverse of the Deposit Protection Certificatewhat's this? and returning it to mydeposits.
