4. Unprotecting a deposit

 

Step 1 Deposit returned by Landlord

Summary

  • Deposits should only be unprotected when all or part of the deposit has been returned to the Tenant either:
    • by agreement between the Landlord and Tenant
    • by a court order or Dispute Resolution processwhat's this?, or
    • if the Landlord has transferred deposit protection to another authorised protection scheme.
  • mydeposits will then contact the Tenant to confirm that it is safe to unprotect.
