4. Unprotecting a deposit

 

Step 1 Deposit returned

Summary

  • Deposits should only be unprotected when all or part of the deposit has been returned to the Tenant either:
    • by agreement between the Agent/Landlord and Tenant
    • by a court order or Dispute Resolution process, or
    •  if the Agent/Landlord has transferred deposit protection to another authorised protection scheme.
    • mydeposits will then contact the Tenant to confirm that it is safe to unprotect
  • Deposits can be unprotected:
